NANDI; art, is inspired by Queen Nandi, mother of the great King Shaka of the Zulu nation. Nandi whose name means ‘a woman of high esteem’, was humiliated and rejected by a lot of people but despite all she went through she remained resilient and strong. She knew her worth and instilled these values into her son, shaping him into one of the most prominent warrior king the Zulu kingdom has ever had! She also thought her son to believe in the power of unity and the concept of ‘WE ARE ALL THE SAME’. 
Till today, Queen Nandi is seen as the symbol of the strong African woman.
Never lose faith and don’t stop believing in your destiny.

The UNafraid Limited Edition Rug Collection launched in August 2022, to celebrate Women’s Month in South Africa.

The UNafraid’ rug collection is a limited edition body of work by talented surface and textile designer, Joy Ezeka, founder of ZURI and IMANI, in collaboration with the founding team of Airloom Décor. Joy is on an UNAFRAID journey, to establish ‘Made in Africa’ as a seal of excellence – and be part of the revolution aimed at moving Africa to the top of the global value chain targeted at recovering and growing the African creative economy especially the re-branding of the African textile industry.
